This didn't appear in any of the official eratta sets
so I'm going to post it here.

The Mass Driver design rules, pp 110, have the following
listed formula for range (short range) of a MD gun:
( bore diam (cm) + muzzle vel (m/s) ) * .015

This is wrong. It would, as listed, give a max short range
around 75 meters for TL 10 5,000 m/s mass drivers, which is less
than a good rifle's short range, not to mention conventional
CPR cannon. In addition, if you carefully look through FF&S, you will
see that the standard way to represent numbers less than 1.0 is with
a leading zero, i.e. 0.015 would be correct, but .015 is "wrong".
Combined, those two signs are pretty strong that there's a misplaced
decimal point in that number and it should be 0.15 not .015 .

merrick@RT66.com (Merrick Burkhardt) thinks I may have screwed up my
meson gun. That means either a) he's wrong or b) I forgot to do the
figuring for effective range. I'll load up Excell tomorrow and have a look.

And yes, MFD's threw me a bit too, I hope the copy of my BR converted
ships file on one of the ftp sites is correct. Just spot the error and
let me know.

And a new comment, Task Force Games has a set of hex-grid maps of a solar
system (use counters for planets). Its the Starfire Map Set, email
tfg@aol.com for a catalog. Some of the info in the Starfire rules will
also be useful for setting up assaults on a system for BR. When I get
around to it, I'll post my findings.

Querry, why has no one tried to set up a traveller-based mush or moo?
Other than copyright restrictions (which have been worked around in the
case of novels) and lack of a site that is.
